MISSION

fun

“God would not give you the dream or the desire in your heart if He did not also give you the talent and abilities to make that dream come true.”

Mission work doesn’t necessarily mean packing up all your bags and taking off to a foreign country to share the Gospel. Don’t get me wrong, this was totally my idea of mission when I first started this great adventure with the Lord. Two years later, my idea of mission has become much more simple:

Sharing God’s love to those you encounter in the present moment.

A laugh, a smile, a kind word or gesture…in the street, at school, in the park….ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, we are ALL on a mission of love.

A bit about my mission work:

From January through October 2009, I served as a Catholic lay missionary with the Missioners of Christ in Comayagua, Honduras. I now work as a 4th grade homeroom teacher at a local bilingual school and work in ministry. Below are some of the ministries I am involved with here in Honduras.

Me with my godson and his sister Erina – both of them live with the Missionaries of Charity.

3. Missionaries of Charity – I work with the Missionaries of Charity with their women and children with HIV, being a mama to the kids, and a friend to the women. I also teach a Level 2 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd class with Sister Candelaria to children from the mountains each week. 4. Music Ministry – I am a musician/singer in blood, but more than a musician, I consider myself a worship leader. I’m not much of a concert musician, but am more about leading holy hours, vigils, mass, and bringing people into the presence of God through worship and praise.
